The art of tattooing and music have a storied history, thus it’s no surprise a multitude of tattoo studios can be found throughout Nashville.
While locals and tourists alike should have no trouble finding a shop in the greater Nashville area, a studio dedicated to both exceptional quality and customer experience is much more elusive.
However, those looking for quality art need not worry. Safe House Tattoo Studio provides just that and more.
Founded in 2012 by owner and artist Ian White, Safe House’s mission is simple yet bold in living up to its namesake. “Our ultimate goal is to provide an inclusive studio where both artists and clients have a safe place to enjoy the process of tattooing,” states White. He continues, “We want our staff of artists to feel safe, heard, and confident in the environment provided for them to create within. The freedom and comfort that our artists feel is passed on to every client that walks through our door.”
White is confident his new location at 4303 Gallatin Pike provides such an environment. Yet White’s new dream studio was found in a somewhat serendipitous manner.
After an unforeseen and sudden need to find a new space, White found himself facing a formidable hurdle.
“We were about to give up our search,” White claims. “We had just discovered the space we were initially planning to move in to was no longer an option, and now had 6 weeks to find a new home. We thought it would be impossible to find a place to lease, let alone purchase.”
However, thanks to his East Nashville connections, White was tipped off to an office condo for sale on Gallatin Pike.
“My wife and I have always wanted our shop to be on the East Side. We live on this side of town, as do most of our staff. East Nashville tends to be an extremely creative community and we wanted to be apart of it.”
The Cauble Group, who represented the property owner in the deal, were adamant about helping White’s plan of owning his own shop come to fruition.
“Demand for affordable office space in East Nashville is certainly on the rise,” said Tyler Cauble. “We’re happy to be able to provide a new home in our neighborhood for such an outstanding locally-owned business.”
Ready and open for business, White and his team are excited to provide Nashville with exceptional tattoos for years to come.
