The 10 Best Commercial Real Estate Articles of 2021
Happy holidays from everyone at The Cauble Group!
We sincerely hope the festivities with your friends and family have already begun and that there’s a lot more of it to come until we hit the New Year.
As 2021 begins winding down, I thought I’d take a quick look back at what we’ve published for you this year and handpick a few of my favorite articles.
There’s a lot of high-level intel on commercial real estate in the ten articles below, and it’s gotten me thinking that I need to package all of this up into a more instantly digestible format. Stay tuned on that front.
And, if you’re more of a watcher or listener than you are a reader, I’ll have you covered with a post covering the best videos of the year from our YouTube channel next week!
All right, let’s get on with it. Here are our ten best commercial real estate articles of 2021 …
I’ve been in this commercial real estate game since 2013; I’ve seen many deals and met many people. But 2021 is a much different environment than the one I started in.
The one question I get asked all the time: “How can I get into commercial real estate investing?” So, knowing what I know now, this article covers exactly what I would do if I had to start it all over again.
I’m a big believer in checklists. Done right, they can save you incredible amounts of time and unthinkable amounts of money! A good checklist can remove a lot of human error from the process and set you up to become a great (and wealthy) investor.
Commercial real estate isn’t exactly brain surgery, but the steps it takes to successfully prepare for, find, fund, operate, and exit any given deal can be intimidating. This checklist will take you through those steps and take you out of the guesswork game.
I recently finished a capital raise. An almost $5MM raise, not peanuts. It wasn't easy, but I found that a few areas in the process can make things go a lot smoother.
This article covers the five most important lessons I learned in successfully raising that capital. I hope that it can shortcut the path to you doing the same.
I’ll say it, in my opinion, commercial real estate syndication feels like a cheat code to passive income for investors. Nothing is perfect in the investing world, but this seems to come closer than anything I’ve seen in my career.
For someone looking to invest at least $100,000, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better investment vehicle than syndication. Again, in my opinion. This article covers just about everything you need to know about it and why I’m so bullish.
It’s an age-old question … commercial or residential? I’m obviously biased in that discussion, but I think for a good reason (not counting my career, of course).
Commercial and residential real estate are two sides of the same coin, but they’re still vastly different from one another. This article takes an objective look into that difference and tries to help you decide which is better for you as an investor.
Surprised? Many are, and I completely understand why. For one thing, it’s what many of us are taught from young adulthood … hell, it’s ingrained into the American Dream!
And I’m okay with that, as long as you take a good look at the entire picture and how it fits your long-term goals. Side Note: I own multiple commercial properties and still rent my residence. This might be a mind-bending (and liberating) article for many of you, enjoy.
If you've got some money you'd like to see grow passively over the next decade or so, you'll feel this question immediately. Many investors wonder about it, experience FOMO over it, and unfortunately waste a lot of valuable time stewing in it.
It's a huge question, one that I can't definitively answer for you. Your age, income, risk aversion, and goals … those would all have to come into the equation. But what I can do is lay out the pros and cons of each side to help you get in the game before it's too late.
This question is similar to the last one, but it’s even more fraught with emotion and FOMO for some. I mean, are you missing the opportunity of several generations by passing on crypto investing?
Again, I can’t (and won’t) answer that question for you, but let’s take another objective look into the pros and cons inherent in both cryptocurrency and real estate investing so that you can make a better-informed decision for yourself.
Many commercial real estate investors dream of “working their way up” to buying an apartment complex. And they should, but it might not take as long as they think …
What does it take to buy an apartment complex? Where do you get the money? How do you sort out the due diligence? This article has answers to those questions and more; you might be closer to a deal like this than you’ve ever thought you could be!
Industrial ain’t sexy. And, for that reason, many investors pass it up … to their detriment, in my opinion. I’m seriously bullish on the future of the industrial sector for reasons that might surprise you.
This article does not provide a complete list of the reasons that the industrial commercial real estate outlook is strong, but they are the most compelling reasons in my mind. Take some time with this article; you won’t be disappointed.
One More Time … Happy Holidays to You and Yours!
In my opinion, that was the best from our blog in 2021 …
