About New South Associates
Founded in 1988 in Stone Mountain, Georgia, New South Associates is a small, women-owned business that provides professional cultural resources, including archaeology, historic research, and preservation planning.
New South Associates also has offices in Columbia, South Carolina and Greensboro, North Carolina in addition to their Nashville branch.
“We are passionate about studying culture, preserving unique places, and deeply connected communities we serve,” states Robbie Jones, Senior Historian at the Tennessee office, which makes East Nashville the perfect fit.
East Nashville
While 1629 Fatherland is a new home to New South Associates, East Nashville is certainly familiar territory. New South Associates has long been proud of their East Nashville roots, stating, “[We have] operated a branch office in East Nashville for over 15 years. It is our home.”
Like too many businesses in East Nashville, New South Associates found their longstanding branch office destroyed as a result of the March 3rd tornado. However, they were determined to remain in the community they have grown to love.
“East Nashville is very much like a small town within a big city. We love it here and made an intentional decision to stay in East Nashville. We love the historic neighborhood, with its restored homes, businesses, unique culture, and close-knit community.”
1629 Fatherland
New South Associates is now happy to call 1629 Fatherland their new home. “[After the tornado] we were relieved to be able to quickly find a new office in East Nashville. Our new office is also located in a historic house and surrounded by beautifully preserved landmark homes and businesses,” said Jones.
The office at 1629 Fatherland was listed by Tyler Cauble of The Cauble Group. Of working with Tyler and his team, New South states, “We are grateful to Tyler Cauble for responding so quickly after the March 3 rd tornado and helping us secure a new office within days of the natural disaster.”
